About Sonor
Founded in 1875, Sonor started manufacturing military drums, from there they developed into making the masterpieces you see today packed full of almost 150 years of experience. The first Sonor drum kit was made in 1952 and today's various Sonor series have captured the very essence of this. Sonor continues to re-introduce analogue sounds into a digital world keeping up with high demands of durability, and reliability as well as standing out with some magnificent and unique finishes.
Warm, focused tone from medium beech shells
This kit uses 9-ply beech shells with a 6mm thickness, striking a solid balance between projection and control. Beech naturally boosts low and mid frequencies, giving your sound warmth and body without losing clarity. The medium shell thickness adds a bit more punch and focus, making it great for controlled live or studio use. Sonor's CLTF (Cross Laminated Tension Free) process helps maintain shell integrity and roundness, so your tone stays reliable gig after gig. Whether you're recording or playing live, these shells deliver consistent results.
Classic sound with rounded bearing edges
Rounded bearing edges give this kit its authentic vintage sound. Unlike sharp edges that produce a more aggressive tone, rounded edges allow for greater head-to-shell contact. This results in a softer attack, deeper resonance, and a more mellow overall feel – especially when tuned lower or played with brushes. Perfect for jazz, blues, or retro-inspired grooves, the sound feels open and natural straight out of the box.
Reliable hardware that preserves your tone
The included Vintage Prism Clamp offers a sturdy and non-intrusive way to mount your rack tom. By avoiding excessive pressure on the shell, it helps preserve the natural resonance and sustain of the drum. Meanwhile, Sonor’s TuneSafe system keeps your tension rods locked in place, even during extended sessions or transport. All hardware is finished in chrome, adding durability without distracting from the kit’s vintage aesthetic.
