Key Features
The Tama ''Full Balance'' Oak Drum Stick is a high-quality drum stick from Tama, constructed from Japanese oak for a heavy, powerful feel. The Full Balance is designed for all round versatility. It features a regular .570'' diameter and a length of 16''. The stick performs well in every area and style, with increased accuracy compared to a regular 5A hickory drum stick due to the oak giving it increased weight. The stick features a True Round tip shape, allowing players to balance volume and technicality. The round tip is also suited for faster drumming, due to the fact that the stick rebounds off of the head in the same way every time. This also ensures even tones from drums and cymbals. Additionally, the combination of the rounded tip and the hardness of the Japanese oak wood work together to provide an incredibly well balanced timbre and a clear attack.

The Oak Lab series is a new series of drum sticks from Tama, focused completely on trying to expand the tonal possibilities of Oak. Usually, the shape used for oak drum sticks is the same as the more popular hickory, however Tama have analysed the wood's tonal properties and developed a new shape that utilises the incredible strength and weight that oak offers. The outcome was 5 different models, each perfected for a different style of playing, from the 'Smash' which features a forward weight balance and a larger tip, greatly increasing volume and attack, to the 'Swingin' which is designed for intricate timbre and dynamic control throughout play. Furthermore, the Japanese oak brings out the rich, mid-low cymbal tone, which cannot be achieved with regular hickory or maple sticks. Whether you've used oak before or not, you won't have felt anything similar to Tama's new range of oak sticks.
