The stand is equipped with Tama's special quick-set clutch which can be attached or removed with one simple touch. The clutch allows the top cymbal to float more freely, resulting in enhanced natural resonance and definition during play. Minimising the contact area between the clutch and top hi-hat cymbal improves the hi-hat cymbal's natural resonance. In place of the traditional felt washer, Tama created a special nylon washer that reduces the amount of cymbal contact, allowing the cymbal to vibrate to its fullest.
Included with the HH915D is an additional cymbal rod, which provides the flexibility of choosing either a long or short rod. You can then use the tilting mechanism of the hi-hat stand to position the stand at varying angles, offering a different feel and space convenient solution if required. If that isn't enough customisation, you can also adjust the angle of the footboard to a position that feels right for you.
The HH915D stand features a fully adjustable footboard which can be tweaked to match the exact angle of your bass drum pedals for convenience. Roller bearings at the lever fulcrum ensure even smoother footboard action whilst an ultra-strong Kevlar strap connects the footboard and pull rod for even, noise-free action.
The Tama HH915D Speed Cobra Hi-Hat Stand features an innovative tilting spring seat system which tilts the bottom cymbal, only when you open the hi-hats. Adjusting the spring tension allows you to adjust the angle to achieve your favourite degree of half-open sound or closed sound. Spring tension can also be adjusted quickly and simply with a single hand, allowing drummers and musicians to focus on their performance whilst maintaining full access to tension control.
The Speed Cobra is a pedal that was meticulously designed to provide incredibly smooth and lightweight action, maximising your comfort when playing fast passages. Some of that seamless action is provided by the recessed setting, which balances the natural playing feel of the Chain Drive's motion and lighter action.
The Long footboard is a specially designed pedal board for the Speed Cobra series that rapidly accelerates the power and speed of the beater stroke, with a lot less physical effort required. The smoother playing surface reduces friction between your foot and the footboard allowing more precise control and flexibility.
The HP910LN Speed Cobra features the Accu-Strike Cobra beater that was developed to bring out maximum bass drum potential. The unique Butiadene Rubber offers strong resistance to wear and a lighter weight, providing consistent and articulate sound with strong attack. The thick rubber part produces a fat but focused sound even at lower volumes.
To continuously play fast passages, your pedal action has to feel light for less stress and muscle fatigue. The recessed setting position makes it possible to achieve a perfect balance between the natural playing feel of the Chain Drive's motion and lighter action. The footboard placement is designed to achieve the best balance between natural action and lighter motion. By changing the bearing's framework structure, this produces less stress on the FASTBALL bearing and makes a huge difference in the total feel. As a result, about 20 percent less exertion is required to produce the same result in power and feel found in existing current models.
