With a rich, complex shell tone and gorgeous Japanese Sen finish, the Tama STAR snare is likely to impress all who see and hear it. The linear drive strainer gives you greater control of the lever for more precise motion. Even when engaged suddenly you won't hear the slap of the snare wires on the reso head. The 8 lugs reduce weight and produce an open tone, with a clean, one-piece design and bridge construction for minimal shell contact, allowing more natural resonance from the drum.
Die-cast hoops provide durability and a focused tone, with three air holes around the shell providing more focus and a balanced 360-degree projection. With a flat snare bottom for greater sensitivity and cut, the Tama STAR walnut snare provides plenty of low-end boom with enough high frequency to cut through the mix.
