With a 3.5mm deep snare bed, the Yamaha Steve Gadd Signature Snare really benefits from its 10 strand snare wires. This allows for faster attack and greater sound articulation, whereas additional wires tend to produce more attack at the cost of speed.
Dark chrome-black nickel steel shell
But in this instance, fewer snare wires doesn't necessarily mean less attack. This snare drum's tough, 1.2mm steel shell makes up for any tradeoff on firepower - offering improved sustain and presence. Like a Steve Gadd drum solo, it'll command an audience's attention and ensure that your backbeat is brought to the front of the mix.

Born in Rochester, New York in 1945, Steve Gadd is one of the most highly regarded session and studio drummers of all time. Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, B. B.
