Key Features
Few drummers can attest to having even half the career that Steve Gadd has had. One of the most acclaimed and accomplished drummers of his generation, Gadd has endorsed Yamaha Drums for over 40 years. To commemorate this four-decade relationship, Gadd and Yamaha worked together to create this, the Yamaha Steve Gadd 14" x 5.5" Signature Snare Drum.
A true master of the instrument, Gadd's playing has transcended the various genres associated with his illustrious session work. Whether that be jazz, blues, rock, pop or R&B. Part Gadd tribute, part embodiment of the drumming great's distinguished style, this signature snare's sonic versatility is its most impressive feature.
Its 10 strand snare wires ensure enhanced articulation, while the snare's steel shell provides heightened treble and sustain. Finished with a stunning dark chrome-black nickel tint, the Yamaha Steve Gadd Signature Snare Drum oozes style and substance in abundance.
Drummers looking for a reliable and versatile snare drum can call off the search. Constructed with Gadd's session and studio work in mind, this signature snare will soon become your closest companion behind the kit.

With a 3.5mm deep snare bed, the Yamaha Steve Gadd Signature Snare really benefits from its 10 strand snare wires. This allows for faster attack and greater sound articulation, whereas additional wires tend to produce more attack at the cost of speed.
But in this instance, fewer snare wires doesn't necessarily mean less attack. This snare drum's tough, 1.2mm steel shell makes up for any tradeoff on firepower - offering improved sustain and presence. Like a Steve Gadd drum solo, it'll command an audience's attention and ensure that your backbeat is brought to the front of the mix.
Born in Rochester, New York in 1945, Steve Gadd is one of the most highly regarded session and studio drummers of all time. Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, B. B. King, Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra and Paul Simon are just a few of the musicians that Gadd has worked with throughout a career that has already enjoyed five decades of success.
"I have been playing Yamaha drums for over 40 years. It's been a pleasure working together and I hope our relationship continues to grow. This is the latest signature model we have created. I hope you like it" - Steve Gadd
