All Maple Shell

The Tour Custom Shell Pack features all-maple shells that give off warm, bright tones. The shells are designed with a 6-ply, 45-degree bearing edge that adds great tonal depth, quick response and the perfect amount of sustain. The shells are kept thin for great attack and projection, yet are not lacking in strength thanks to Yamaha's Propriety staggered diagonal seam construction. Each Tour Custom Maple shell pack is finished in a satin stain that's guaranteed to stand the test of time.

Y.E.S.S III Tom Mount

Yamaha have implemented their advanced YESS III mounting technology, providing reduced acoustic dampening and giving you the best sound from your drums. The mounts allow the shells to vibrate more freely, bringing out the best of the shells' natural sustain and volume.

45 Degree Bearing Edges

Yamaha's new designed rounded Dyna-Hoops focus on controlling the natural overtones that all-maple drums give. They also focus on stabilising its tuning for recording-grade tones that work well over a wide range of music. About Yamaha Drums

Yamaha Drums is a subsidiary of the Yamaha Corporation founded in 1967. The company manufactures acoustic and electronic drum kits as well as percussion instruments, marching band equipment, and drum hardware. Most of Yamaha's drums are manufactured at two different locations in Asia. Their factory in Osaka produces their high-end professional drums as well as all of their marching percussion. The research and development of new products also take place there. Marketing is managed from the Yamaha Corp. headquarters in Hamamatsu. The factory in China produced the entry-level GigMaker kit and the intermediate-kit Stage Custom Birch. Their factory in Indonesia produces the Tour Custom and the newly introduced Rock Tour series drums. The Indonesian factory uses the same machinery and techniques in their drum shells and all of the craftsmen working there are trained by Japanese craftsmen from the Osaka site. The only difference between these two plants is that the Osaka plant uses the more exclusive woods.
