The Katana-110 is a versatile and powerful amplifier, and beneath its sleek, robust exterior lies a custom 10” woofer that will produce enough projection to fill any stage. This amp can certainly bark, but the powerful sound is also complemented with a little bit of bite. The built-in tweeter provides great definition at higher frequencies - making this amp great for picking and slap playing styles - it can also be switched off to achieve a vintage bass tone for those more old-school styles. What’s more, the bi-amp design ensures a well-balanced sound that is full of clarity even at the highest outputs.
Produced with decades of BOSS innovation in mind, this modern classic of a bass amplifier delivers a huge volume, drenched in clarity and presence, with a natural drive that increases parallel to the gain. Incredibly versatile, you can select from the ‘vintage’ preamp for more natural tube inspired harmonics, the ‘flat’ preamp, which provides smoother dynamics with a rich tonal palette, and the ‘modern’ preamp which offers a rapid dynamic response. Each of these preamps are equipped with a respective three-way Shape switch to mould the character to your exact specifications.
With both the FX1 and FX2 effect libraries, you’ll have access to an endless amount of effect options which can be mixed, matched and tailored to fit. From more basic effects such as reverb, delay and chorus to more advanced settings such as the octave or bass synth, you’ll be able to find a different and unique sound every time you play. All these settings can be altered and perfected on the highly intuitive control panel. You can also add some dry signal if you desire through the ‘Blend’ section, and when compounded with the three preamp settings, you’ll have access to a new world of sonic capabilities.
If you’re looking for an ideal on-stage companion, then look no further. If you’ve utilised the effects settings to a point where you can go no further and have found a sound which fits your exact taste and specifications, you can use the six Tone Setting memories that are available to save it. Then, you can recall your favourite unique voices at any time for an elevated performing experience that can be used and re-used to your heart’s content. The GA-FC footswitch also allows for instantaneous on-stage control.
Included with a variable Power Control, you can access a dial-up cranked amp tone at lower volumes, making this amp also ideal for rehearsal or in the studio. You can also find a headphones/recording jack output, alongside the USB interface which holds computer production software and track with a marvellous tone.
