The Katana Series

The Katana Series of amps from Roland's Boss division embodies their pursuit of finding the ultimate rock sound, calling upon years of research and design to deliver redefined rock tones. Built using traditional craftsmanship with new and innovative designs, the Katana amps offer class-defying tones with an excellent touch response and presence. Taking inspiration from the Japanese sword of the same name, the amps provide a smooth, cutting tone perfect for gigging musicians, as well as for use in recording and practising.

All the tones

The power of five. This amp offers complete dynamism with five amp characters to choose from. It's got Clean for a flowing, natural, clear sound, whilst Crunch delivers that classic rock/blues sound with vigour. Lead is where it starts to get really dirty – perfect for solos and the suited to multiple different genres. Then there's Brown – for the gain lovers who want to chug and shred the night away. Finally, the Acoustic character recreates authentic acoustic tones, so you can be sure you’re your electro acoustic will also sound stellar through this amp. Combined with 50W of power, these amp voicings will punch through any mix with ease.

Effects for everyone

It's loaded. Using the Boss Tone Studio editor software, you can choose from a vast array of fully customisable effects to use on this amp. Whether you want some delicious delay or wacky wah, you'll be able to make your riffs shine with each one you choose to use. There's also mic'd cab emulation for sending your sound to a PA, mixer, or headphones,, which is incredibly useful for getting the tone you want into the mix. Three types of cab resonance also help you to get your voicing exact, so you can create your music with total attention to detail. In addition, there's a Power Control for getting that cranked amp feel at lower volumes – perfect for practice. With the Katana 50 Combo behind you, you'll simply sound your best every time you play.
