If there's one thing the Boss Nextone Amp isn't short on, its tones. Featuring a dual-channel design, the Nextone Stage offers stunning cleans and leads that you can enhance with one of the four selectable Class AB analogue power amp types. With instant access to the unique characteristics of 6V6, 6L6, EL84, and EL34 output sections (the part that defines the amp's overall sonic signature), you'll be able to tap into the tube tones that helped shape American and British rock 'n' roll.
Switching to the 6V6 will deliver that distinct sweet and crisp tone that you'd find on legendary low-watt American amps. Giving you an organic compression that'll liven up your sound. If you're wanting a high-headroom and plenty of punch, then the 6L6 will deliver. Its rounded and full-midrange character is perfect for driving your sound into crunchy rhythms are screaming leads.
Across the pond, you'll find the EL84 and EL34 power tubes. The EL84 is famous for its use in British combo amps of the late 50s and early 60s, going from glassy, clean chimes at low volumes to rich, creamy distortion when cranked. The EL34's, on the other hand, were widely used in iconic British stack amps. These were noted for the beautifully warm, fat tone and unmistakable rock crunch.
The Nextone Stage features their unique Tube Logic design to reproduce the complex interaction behaviours of the tube amp, resulting in an authentic tube sound, feel, and response. Unlike traditional modelling amps, which feeds pre-cooked amp sounds through a non-reactive amplifier, the Nextone's power amp types completely re-voices the entire circuitry from input to output. This also changes the way the preamp and speaker interact, providing you with a truly realistic tube-like performance. You also have the added benefit of getting a tube tone without the weight or maintenance - You'll never need to replace tubes or send it to a technician to get different sounds.
Between its channels and power amp types, the Boss Nextone is already rather versatile. If we add its incredible tone shaping capabilities, the level of conceivable sounds becomes nearly unlimited. Its control panel features a classic gain, volume, and three-band EQ setup, letting you quickly dial in desired tones for a variety of settings. The in-built delay and reverb effects add extra textures and dynamics to your performance, while the included FX loop lets you add your own stomboxes.
If this doesn’t offer enough tone shaping for you, then you'll favour the Nextone Editor. Simply download the app and connect to your amp via the USB and you'll have access to practically every aspect of the amp. You'll be able to select from a wide range of delays and reverbs or adjust the FX loop for series/parallel, loop position, and more. You can go into the controls and change their bias, sag, or EQ to match your own personal taste and playing style. With 99 user setups for you to customise, you'll be able to create all the tones you need for any gig.
While traditional tube amps require you to turn the volume up to high levels to get the best sound from the valves, it is usually frowned upon by sound engineers, bandmates, and neighbours. Fortunately for you - and those around you - the Boss amp features a power control, letting you crank up your sound while keeping its volume manageable. This lets you set the output volume to suit homes, studios, and stages while still getting that rich, dynamic response of a 'driven tube'.
There's no point in having all these tones at your fingertips and not be able to seamlessly integrate it into your rig. Between its line out, headphone/recording out, and USB, you can connect to a wide variety of PA systems, mixing consoles, and recording devices. The amp also supports multi-channel, letting you record both the cab-emulated output and dry direct tone, ready for re-amping anytime.
If you take the amp to the stage, you can use its speaker outputs to expand your performance. Supporting up to two 16-ohm 4x12 cabs, you'll be able to deliver a much bigger tone and rock the house down. You also have access to footswitch inputs. You can either use three FS-series footswitches or Boss' GA-FC footswitch to create your own command centre and control a range of the amp's functions. You won't need to go back to your amp while you perform.
Keep your amp at its best. This Roland Nextone Stage Amp Cover will ensure your Stage stays pristine. Reinforced seams ensure it's tough and long-lasting, while the polyester covering will prevent your amp from being tarnished with dirt and grime. It'll also stop any dust getting into your amp - meaning it'll keep performing at the top of its game.
