The Dean Edge Select Bass finished with a natural satin burled poplar builds on Dean's venerable Edge bass design to provide incredible tone and tour ready construction. This beautifully finished bass guitar is the result of over 40 years of design experience. The hard maple neck coupled with the pau ferro fretboard makes for a comfortable playing surface. The high mass bass bridge solidly holds the bass strings to the body and keeps the action and tuning very consistent. The swamp ash body wood offers a satisfying twang, making it brilliant for tones that need more bite. Ash’s Twang with Maple’s Great Response

The aggressive tone of the Dean Edge starts at its tough wood. The rigid swamp ash provides a tough construction that won’t let you down when you're playing on stage. Swamp ash is known for its subtle bias towards the high end of the frequency spectrum, this makes the Dean Edge incredible for music with heavier sounds but fits just as well in a tight funk mix. The solid build provides the bass with length sustains giving you a satisfying playing experience, which is further bolstered by the 3-piece maple neck build. Covered with a tone rounding pau ferro fingerboard, the feel of the Edge is incredible up and down the neck.

Powerful Booming Tones

The DMT series passive soapbar pickups are where the Edge’s incredibly dense tone comes alive. These pickups provide the boost that the Edge’s tones need to set the stage alight. Couple that will the responsive DMT preamp and you have an incredibly hefty bass tone. The 3-band active EQ takes the tone shaping capability of the Dean Edge to the next level. Giving you enough scope to really configure your tone to your taste. Giving you the sound, you want with speed and accuracy.
