Experience legend. It's the guitar that changed music forever. The remarkable origins of the first solid body guitar are being celebrated with the Fender 70th Anniversary Broadcaster. After getting off to a rocky start, the Broadcaster went through a transition period until it finally ended up as the Telecasters we know and love today. But 70 years on, Fender have brought it back. Slot-head screws, a blend circuitry, rounded control knobs, and of course, the Broadcaster name are all original specs that are no longer available. Well, until this triumphant return.
There's a reason everyone loves Fender. They sound and look great. The features that started the wave of successful Fender products are distinct. An ash body with a Blonde Gloss Nitrocellulose Lacquer finish and a Black Phenolic pickguard are instantly striking. You just know it's a Fender. But, there's more than an amazing look to this model. A pair of custom hand-wound '50-'51 Blackguard pickups produce a remarkably bright, snappy tone that brings back the sound of the Broadcaster era. But, act fast. Production of this legendary model is limited to 2020.

It's Autumn 1950. Nat King Cole, Judy Garland, and Bing Crosby are part of everyday life. But wait, music is on the brink of being changed forever because Fender have released their first ever solid-body electric guitar defining a generation. It's the Broadcaster. Unfortunately, only 250 of these revolutionary models are to be released due to trademark issues with Gretch's 'Broadkaster' and the evolution of the Broadcaster begins. Guitars left the shop with no signature on the headstock and were dubbed as 'Nocasters' before finally being renamed as the Telecaster. Now, the original returns.
Classic quality. Relive a historic sound. The Custom Shop Hand-Wound '50-'51 Blackguard pickups breathe new life into iconic tones. These pickups give you all the classic snappy clarity that defines such a monumental series giving you the distinct sound that only Fender can achieve and adding character to every note you play. And it's not just the pickups that create the legendary sound. Traditional volume and tone knobs open it up to work for any genre. From classic rock to edgy pop-punk, you can make your mark on the tone that shaped rock 'n' roll as we know it.
Straight from the 50s. And true to the original. The neck on the Broadcaster is where it's origins really come to life. Fender have given it the same "U" profile maple neck and fretboard that persuaded many music legends to make the switch to a solid body. Effortless transitions between chord shapes and lead lines make it easy to get the most out of the full scale.
Go full Broadcaster. Sure this guitar comes with the standard Telecaster 3-way switch but if you want the entire Broadcaster experience, then Fender have you covered. It's all in the operation. An optional Broadcaster wiring kit can be installed to replicate the unique "blend" circuit used in originals. This changes the tone control to a to blend letting you reach historic tones. It's like a musical time machine. You wouldn't be blamed for wanting to play this icon all night long. After all, it's where the magic began.
