Artwood Vintage Thermo Aged Woods

Ibanez's new Thermo Aging process helps give tonewoods improved volume across the entire frequency spectrum, along with greater nuance and balance. This is achieved by drying the woods in a heated environment, also known as torrefaction. The process gives the woods a lovely dark hue, reminiscent of the way vintage guitars age over time. Ibanez's Thermo Aged tonewoods provide you with the sound and look of a vintage guitar without having to buy a true decades-old instrument.

Dreadnought Body

The dreadnought body shape is one of the earliest acoustic guitar designs, and often chosen for its rich low-end, slightly scooped mids, and shimmery treble. The large body also gives incredible projection which makes it popular with acoustic players in both fingerpicking and strumming styles.

Solid Sitka Spruce-Topped Body

The solid sitka spruce top gives this guitar a bright and resonant core tone, enhanced by the Thermo Aging process for even more volume and a sweeter sound. The top is supported by an X bracing pattern with improves the sustain and the response every little nuance of your playing. The mahogany back and sides gives a lovely aesthetic along with enhanced volume and additional tonal warmth.

Mahogany Neck

The AVD9's mahogany neck provides additional warmth and sustain, while the soft-V neck shape is inspired by vintage guitars and sits comfortably in the left hand. The neck has a satin finish for a smooth playing feel when traversing across the fingerboard.

Stable Hardware Choices

The Thermo Aged woods create a stable instrument which is enhanced by the compensated bone saddle and chrome open-gear tuners. The bridge features Ibanez's Advantage bridge pins which enable easier string changes than traditional pin designs.
