The Schecter Stiletto Studio's body is constructed from high-quality mahogany coupled with a bubinga top, producing powerful, versatile tones and a stunning, unique aesthetic. The bass' mahogany body offers naturally rich, warm tones, with a balance of grind and bite to create tights lows and appealing highs. The wood offers the guitar excellent amounts of depth, enhancing the Schecter's resonance for an incredible sustain. The bubinga top provides the bass with warm, even tones which add plenty of richness to the overall sound. The Schecter also features an S-Tek bridge, satin gold hardware, and a honey satin finish to show off the natural grain of the woods.
The maple/walnut neck and rosewood fingerboard are designed with a neck-through construction, with a thin ''C'' shape to offer a smooth, fast play. Using both maple and walnut for the neck gives the guitar’s tone bright characteristics, with plenty of warmth and clarity. The two woods work together to produce firm lows, sizzling highs, and a snappy attack in the mids. Adding a rosewood fingerboard makes the tone warm and soft, with sparkling highs and thick lows.
Featuring a set of EMG 40HZ’s, the Schecter Stiletto has plenty of output to produce incredible tones. Using ceramic bar magnets with steel bars, the EMG pickups are designed the same as a humbucker to offer low noise and a high output. The pickup can produce warm tones with a smooth attack and a big mid-range response. The Schecter also features a 3-band EQ with controls over the bass, mid and treble, allowing the bass to be shaped to best suit your playing style. The bass guitar also comes with many other features, including Schecter tuners, a Graph Tech nut, and grey offset dot inlays on the fingerboard.
A unique feature of the Stiletto Studio-5 FF is its angled frets, which ergonomically coordinate with the way a player's hand pivots as it moves across the fingerboard. The fanned fret design provides players with extra comfort, offering an incredibly fast, smooth playing experience. This setup also provides the bass with short and long scale lengths, allowing players to achieve immense tonal possibilities with ease.
