The Artist Edition E653 Amp Head offers 50 watts of pure tone power, driven by 2 powerful EL34 power amp tubes to produce excellent dynamics, searing tones, and a focused punch. These tubes are perfect for players who enjoy rich overtones and overdriving their amps, as they provide a rich tube sound much sooner than other tubes. The 50 watts offered is more than enough power for most stage settings, and when pushed will deliver the classic power amp distortion to bring some character to your tone.
Featuring 2 channels to choose from and a range of excellent tone shaping controls, players can create a wide range of tones from punchy, aggressive high gain sounds, to rich, sweet low/medium gain and pristine clean tones. While the clean channel offers a dynamic, sparking tone, the lead is more aggressive and tight, perfect for metal when the gain is increased. Use the gain button to saturate the clean in a crispy, pleasantly overdrive, or use it on the lead to create excessive gain and definition for a classic ENGL tone. The 3-band EQ and bright switch can be used to adjust the amp’s frequency ranges, letting players find the perfect tone for their playing styles.
The amp features a range of ins/outs for players to expand their performance, allowing the connection of footswitches to provide control over the amps functions without the need to be near the amp. Connect three external footswitches or ENGL’s L Z-9 Custom Footswitch to control the amps FX loops, noise gate, master control, mid shape, clean/lead channels, and gain modes. The featured FX loop allows the connection of an external stompbox, with a balanced control to adjust the level the effects unit influences the amp. The range of outputs offer the choice between 4 ohm parallel, 8 ohm parallel, and 16 ohms, allowing seamless connection to speaker cabinets perfect for stage settings.
