The set of Seymour Duncan pickups provide the ESP EC-1000FM with strong tones and plenty of dynamics to accommodate even the harshest playing styles. In the bridge position is the Seymour Duncan JB, a truly modern classic pickup known for its hot-rodded design which makes it ideal for any music genre. Its hot output pushes amps for extra sustain and harmonics, creating a tone saturated in full, powerful lows, crisp, detailed highs, and an upper mid bump which adds crunch and chunk to heavy chords.
The neck position sports the Seymour Duncan 59, a vintage-voiced humbucker designed to offer versatile tones and a sweet sustain. Selecting this pickup will provide the guitar with full lows, boosted highs, and a smooth, open midrange to deliver full sounding chords and a clear, bright attack.
Mahogany is a fairly dense tonewood which creates a warm and rich tone with excellent depth. It also offers durability and a tone which will mature over the years, for a long lasting investment. A flame maple top gives this guitar a stunning and unique 3-dimensional appearance, as well as extending the tonal range of the mahogany. In addition, the EC Series body shape also features a single cutaway, which allows easier access to the higher frets and more flexibility across the whole fingerboard.
The ESP EC-1000FM's neck is made from mahogany, which is sturdy, and it offers a rich sound with plenty of warmth. The neck is topped with a pau ferro fingerboard that yields snappier and brighter tonal characteristics. Featuring a set neck that is easy to play due to it's thin U-shaped contour, this allows for the fast playing style that ESP guitars are celebrated for.
