Stephen Carpenter is a guitarist, songwriter, and founding member of the American alternative metal band, Deftones. Over the years, Carpenter’s guitar style evolved, incorporating elements of DJ scratching, hip-hop, and ambient music. His work with the band has been praised for its intricate, layered textures and complex harmonies. In addition to his work with Deftones, Carpenter has collaborated with a number of other musicians, including Ozzy Osbourne, Cypress Hill, and Sevendust. With his signature seven-string guitars and unique style, Carpenter has become one of the most influential guitarists in alternative metal.
The SCT-607's alder body is lightweight and comfortable, while the thin U-shaped maple neck ensures hours of comfortable and effortless playing. The Macassar ebony fingerboard provides a silky-smooth playing surface, perfect for intricate riffs and complex chords. With 24 extra jumbo frets, you'll have no problems hitting those higher notes. And a smooth black finish gives this stunning guitar a sleek and sophisticated look that will turn heads on stage.
The star of the show is this guitar's Fishman Fluence pickups. These pickups can be split in two voicing options with a simple push-pull volume control. Voice 1 (Modern Active) is Stephen's midrange tweak on the original modern Fluence sound, while Voice 2 (Modern Passive Attack) is his custom voicing with some extra heat and edge. You'll be able to achieve warm and thick tones to powerful, cutting sounds with just a few tweaks of the controls.
The ESP Stephen Carpenter Signature SCT-607 Baritone comes fitted with a host of premium components. The TonePros locking TOM bridge with string-thru-body design offers great sustain, while LTD locking tuners keep you in tune throughout your performance. The three-way selector switch allows you to switch between the pickups with ease, while the tone and volume controls offer you full manipulation of your sound.
The SCT-607 is supplied with an ESP deluxe hardshell case, making it safe and secure during transport. The case also has plenty of room for accessories but, more importantly, also looks devilishly handsome too. Its near-bombproof design ensures you guitar is in safe hand wherever you choose to take it.
