Key Features
The EVH Striped Series '78 Eruption is a shredder's dream. Modelled after the legendary guitar that Van Halen assembled himself, the Eruption has rapid riffs in its DNA. Everything about this is designed to give your playing a shot of adrenaline, from the hand-rubbed ultra-fast satin neck right through to the single low-friction volume pot. It's all geared to minimise fuss and maximise the shredding!
And while you're slaying those mesmerising Halen style solos, you'll be doing so with that rich, balanced voicing that made his guitar sing. A single EVH Wolfgang humbucker provides all the sonics that guitarists crave, from crystal-clear cleans to fat, defined mids and lows. And for exacting accuracy, there's a brass nut and six-saddle vintage Fender Stratocaster bridge that ensures you'll get the perfect EVH tone. Finished in the iconic, angular black & white stripes paintjob, you've got the style, feel and playability of a music titan in your hands.

Fast and furious. Let loose with the kind of solos that melt faces, as the Eruption gives you the tools to take your riffs supersonic. A quartersawn maple neck and fretboard provide the platform for panache, as they've been specially treated for speed.
The neck is hand-rubbed for a fine satin finish that's ultra-smooth and slippy, making position changes fluid and swift. The fingerboard boasts rolled edges for the height of comfort, and a compound radius that enhances everything you play! Complex chords flow near the curved nut, while pushing up the fretboard it flattens out to allow expansive string bends.
As you're going to be pushing the limits of licks and lead lines, you need a neck that can stand up to such demanding playing. Luckily, this is a quarter sawn maple piece that can withstand the most rigorous playing sessions. As one of the more premium milling techniques, its tight grain pattern ensures stability and durability throughout its life.
Towering tone. It's yours to command with the Eruption. A single Wolfgang humbucker captures the signature sound of Van Halen and puts it at your fingertips. Thick, punchy mids and rich rolling lows give way to a defined top-end that voices every detail of your shrieking lead parts. Equally capable at bellowing out volcanic distortion and crystal-clear cleans, there's a lot of dynamics to explore with just a single pickup. But as there's just one bridge pickup, you know that the Eruption is a guitar born to blast through the mix.
To help you do that there's no fuss with these electronics. A single volume pot with low-friction action prevents those unwanted level alterations when you accidentally knock the dial. But when you do need to make adjustments, it's got a treble-bleed circuit so you can shape the sound without sacrificing the high-end.
Not the kind of hardware you'd expect. A true inventor, Van Halen cobbled together this mould breaking instrument from various parts, and that's fully on replicated with this Eruption special. Starting at the top, there's a brass nut that'll allow for clear string vibrations in addition to extracting that signature EVH sound. That's further complemented by the vintage, six saddle Stratocaster tremolo bridge that injects the vibrato tang whenever you need it.
And finally, because you're going to be executing wild pitch-bends and adventurous solos, a set of EVH branded Gotoh tuners ensure that your tuning will be solid for the set. A true performers guitar.
