This model features Epiphone's bell-like '’advanced jumbo'' body, which is similar in size to the popular dreadnought profile, but has a larger lower bout and smaller, more rounded upper bout. This gives it a wonderfully balanced tone ideal for both stage and studio, with a powerful low end and crisp, clear highs. The mahogany body has been topped with a solid sitka spruce top that adds a brightness and definition to the overall sound, creating a beautifully balanced performance with sparkling highs and smooth lows. The spruce tone wood is perfectly complemented by the mellow warmth of the select mahogany back and sides, making the J-45 EC/AJ-220SCE Acoustic ideal for virtually any situation.
Stunning tonewoods
Constructed from mahogany, the neck adds a beautiful warmth, resonance, and a clear top end. Using mahogany for both the body and neck enhances its natural resonance, providing a great response to a wide variety of techniques and playing styles with ease. The neck has been topped with a pau ferro fingerboard that adds warmth and clarity to the overall tone, while its smooth surface provides a comfortably energetic playing experience.

This model has been further enhanced with the addition of a Fishman Presys II preamp and Sonicore pickup system. This preamp features a built-in chromatic tuner, 2-band EQ, and feedback-killing phase knob for the ultimate tone shaping capabilities. It also has a tuner/mute button, which is ideal not only for muting the output when using the tuner, but also for when plugging in or unplugging your guitar.
Its active Sonicore low impedance simultaneously picks up both the vibrations of the strings and the movement of the soundboard. This provides unparalleled natural-sounding acoustic tones without the harshness of conventional piezoelectric pickups.
