Key Features
The Epiphone Les Paul Standard 50s is an all-time classic. Part of the Inspired by Gibson Collection, this guitar pays homage to the iconic 1950s era Les Pauls with exceptional accuracy, capturing the essence of that time. Crafted with a mahogany body, maple cap with AAA veneer on a figured top, and a bound 50s shaped mahogany neck with a long neck tenon, it plays (and looks!) exactly like a vintage Les Paul. Indeed, the smooth laurel fingerboard is shaped with rolled edges for an extremely comfortable feel - expect fluid rhythm and lead work up and down the neck.
But more importantly - the sounds! Classic LP's are coveted for their PAF (Pattern Applied For) tones, and the critically acclaimed Epiphone ProBucker pickups loaded on the Standard 50s deliver the warm and dynamic sonics that purists adore. Wired with CTS pots, you can expect maximum responsiveness when rolling off your volume or shaping your sound. Other premium appointments include an original Kalamazoo headstock shape, Graph Tech NuBone nut, vintage deluxe tuners and gold Top Hat knobs with dial pointers for a touch of Gibson elegance. Unlike most Les Paul models, however, this Standard 50s variant features one extra twist - a Bigsby tailpiece. Whilst a rare addition, this vibrato gives you smooth vintage pitch bends for even more expressive playing.

The Probucker 1 and Probucker 2 humbuckers will enliven your tone and produce a crisp, clear response with each note you play. They have a rich, warm voicing, which helps to bring out depth and gives them a vintage-style twang. The low-end is beefy, and the high end sparkling. With the Probucker 1 in the neck, you'll get a sublimely smooth sound which works well for chunky rhythm and fluid lead. And the Probucker 2 in the bridge offers a tight definition and solid articulation, giving leads a razor-sharp edge and rhythm a punchy, detailed tone. These pickups are sure to bring a new level of flair to your sound.
It plays perfectly. The mahogany neck is made to a rounded '50s Medium C profile, so you can be sure that it provides your hand with the ultimate comfort and manoeuvrability. Tonally, it is warm, helping give your notes a smoothness and richness which complements virtually any style of music. Then there's the Indian laurel fretboard, which is also incredibly playable, offering decent note sustain and a sleekness of its own. You'll be skimming along each fret like a bird, giving you the freedom to improvise in your own style.
Gleaming nickel. It makes up the hardware on this finely crafted model. The LockTone ABR bridge and Bigsby vibrato tailpiece help to keep your strings stable and in tune whilst also offering expressive vintage-style pitch bends. They're complemented by world-class Grover Rotomatic tuners, which offer enhanced tuning stability and string support. With the classic Les Paul Standard body shape feeling comfortable and natural, and the finish truly standing out – this guitar will inspire you.
