Featuring two ceramic TB-Plus pickups which translate the solid mahogany body’s natural resonance into a thunderous bass tone with excellent definition. These pickups are equipped with a three-way selector switch, neck and bridge volume controls and a master tone control, allowing you to sculpt the voicing of the bass so you can find your ideal sound.
The body of the Thunderbird IV is constructed of mahogany wings and a solid, bolt-on hard maple neck which guarantees amazing sustain and tone, finished with a beautiful sunburst wrap. The maple neck will feel fantastic in your hands and you’ll be able to manoeuvre it easily, especially thanks to the smooth pau ferro fretboard. Attached to the fretboard are the 20 medium jumbo nickel/silver alloy frets, which will allow for pinpoint intonation – so you can find the right note at the right time, every time.
This instrument also features a three point fully adjustable bridge. This allows the string height to be adjusted in all directions (front, back and side-to-side, providing supreme control over the bass’s action and intonation. This setup allows the bass to work with a variety of string types and gauges, as well as holding your strings in tune for longer. The distinctive look of the Thunderbird bass is added to with black hardware, a vintage-style white pickguard and classic Thunderbird logo.
