Its two piece ash body is hand selected for weight and grain to grant that correct 'classic' feel, while a gorgeous flame maple AA graded neck is planed into a exact '54 Tele shape to make you riff like the rockstars of the past. This Custom Tele switches things up with a compound radius fretboard, ranging from a chord-friendly 7.25" to a solo-ready 9.50" further up. Complete with modernised Twisted Tele and Original Blackguard pickups for a much hotter tone that retains the iconic Tele twang, the Custom Shop '53 Telecaster is an instrument that enthusiasts won't want to miss!

Loaded with pickups that blend a modern output with classic design, Tele fans are getting the best of both worlds in this Custom Shop marvel. The Twisted Tele neck pickup and OBG bridge are both wound for a hotter voice than you'd find on an original '50s Tele, but they retain the original twang and sparkle which has made the Telecaster so adored.
Their extra output can compete with hard rock and heavy distortion, and remain articulate on cleaner songs for that bell-like chime. And with a Fat '50s control assembly shaping the pickup tones, you're guaranteed sonics which are punchy, powerful, and ready to break through any mix.
Updated playability and stability
The Fender Custom Shop '53 Telecaster offers you a totally unique playing experience. Its 1954 neck profile is shaped from AA grade flamed maple coated in a nitro lacquer for a grip that feels as smooth as silk.
On top, the maple is planed into a compound radius for an ergonomic playing experience. Ranging from the vintage 7.25" to a modern 9.5", it offers both a period-accurate feel without sacrifing lead playing and string bending further up the neck.
