This '59 Custom Shop is powered by two hand-wound Jazzmaster pickups, which offer a classic, vintage sound with plenty of warmth and character. With a versatile SS pickup configuration and a three-way pickup switch, you have full control over your tone. In the bridge position, this pickup produces full-bodied, bright voicings that cut through the mix with ease. The neck pickup, on the other hand, delivers a warmer and more mellow harmonic, perfect melodic lines or for creating a smooth, jazzy sound.
The vintage dual-circuit wiring on this guitar provides a versatile range of tonal options that can be easily accessed with the flip of a switch. The lead circuit includes 250K master volume and tone controls that allow you to adjust the overall output and brightness of the guitar. Turning the volume control all the way up will provide a clean and bright sound, while turning it down will result in a warmer, more mellow tone.
Also featured is a tone control on the lead circuit works by adjusting the high-end frequencies of the sound so you can shape the overall output to your liking. Rolling off the high-end frequencies using this can create a darker, more subdued sonic, while boosting them will give you a brighter, more cutting sound. The rhythm circuit, on the other hand, features thumbwheel controls that can be adjusted independently of the lead circuit. Dial in the perfect balance for your style. By turning down the volume and rolling off the high-end frequencies on the neck pickup using the thumbwheel controls, you can achieve a rich, woody tone that is well-suited for playing jazz or blues.
