Where it all began. The Custom Shop Relic Strat is a pristine example of a guitar that launched the aggressive thrill of modern rock 'n' roll. Legendary artists like Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townshend and George Harrison have all famously rocked the Stratocaster's thrilling, cutting tones. Find your inspiration with a trio of Custom Shop Fat '60s single coil pickups.
Constructed from period correct materials and tuned to evoke the authentic sound, these pickups gift you a finely crafted vintage tone that you can't get from a modern equivalent. Crisp articulation with that instantly recognisable Strat shimmer, these pickups shine with a colossal range of tones available through the 5-position switch. Because they're overwound, they'll still deliver plenty of punch reminiscent of modern contemporary pickups, but with plenty of vintage overtones.

You know it. We all love it. The Stratocaster body shape is what most people's minds jump to as soon as anybody mentions "electric guitar". Fender's Custom Shop team have crafted every inch of the fine alder body to carefully recreate an instrument from the swinging '60s. Full of character marks that establish look of a guitar that has been gigged, loved and played for decades.
Ripping riffs with rosewood fingerboard
Sometimes there's nothing quite like the feel of an aged guitar. Something that's been held, loved, and well-worn throughout the years. You know that the fretboard has seen some electrifying riffs and soaring solos, and by holding it yourself you can channel that inspiration. Fender have encapsulated that feel in this awesome laminated rosewood fingerboard. With a huge depth of tone and soft response it's a delight to play. Narrow tall fret wire enhances the power each note and lets gifts you excellent pitch bend action.
On the underside of the fretboard is the oval "C" shaped maple neck. Expertly moulded into a comfortable shape, your fretting hand won't get fatigued thanks to this ergonomic design. A cutaway at the top of the neck gives you plenty of room to dazzle at the high notes, and the '60s style nitrocellulose lacquer gifts a slick feel that lets you glide around the neck, enabling rapid chord transitions and thrilling solos. Great feel, smooth action, and attractive style. This neck and fingerboard plays like it's straight out of the 1960's.
Vintage appointments
Every detail has been accounted for. Fender have made sure that each item adorning this excellent Custom guitar is a correct appointment. On the body vintage relic style dials control your volume and tone, sat next to the '60s Strat pickguard. As previously mentioned, the pickups are all made with period wiring and materials, but importantly so is the vibrato bridge and tremolo arm. Crucial to getting the vintage whammy excitement.
Towards the neck, an accurate '60s truss rod provides stability while micarta white dot inlays crown this timeless look. Vintage Fender tuning machines decorate the headstock and boast ageless tuning experience. It's clear from the list of features that Fender have striven to get every element of this exactly right.
