One of the most striking features of the Fender Custom Shop '60 Telecaster Journeyman Relic is its unique finish. The Journeyman Relic finish is a meticulous process that gives the guitar an authentic, well-played, and gently aged appearance, as if it has gracefully weathered the passage of time. This is not just about aesthetic appeal – it's about capturing the spirit of the vintage instruments that have inspired countless musicians over the decades.
As such, every inch of the guitar - down to the last screw - has undergone an aging process to reflect decades of use and care, and providing a worn-in feel that's as comfortable as your favourite pair of shoes.
The HW Tele Tex Special Pickups
The hand-wound Texas Special pickups in this Telecaster (58-63) bring the blistering heat with their custom design. Over-wound with enamel-coated magnet wire for increased output, these pickups boast the authentic bark of a hot-rodded Tele from the '60s. But they're not just throaty, because their alnico 5 magnets and staggered pole pieces ensure enhanced dynamics and a balanced output across the strings.
Elsewhere, the nickel/silver neck pickup cover adds clarity and warmth to the Telecaster tone, while the copper-plated steel bottom plate ensures exceptional presence and midrange.
