And those pickups are none other than the Custom Shop's Hand-Wound Texas Special single coils. Fiery and vocal, these hot output pickups consist of overwound Alnico 5 magnets to give you a focused tone and enhanced dynamics.
They've got plenty of sonic kick and punch for voicing your expressive playing, but don't be put off - they still retain that sought-after vintage character. Using enamel-coated magnet wire, Fender have drawn out those warm, classic tones. And even better, you'll enjoy a balanced response across all three positions thanks to the staggered pole piece design. Rich, twangy, full of that sparkling single coil appeal, yet with plenty of attitude under the hood, you'll love these powerful pickups.

Showcasing a 1960 oval "C" shaped neck that's finished in the original nitrocellulose lacquer, you're rewarded with a true vintage vibe, in addition to a slick, swift playing action. And that only gets better with the sleek flat-lam rosewood fretboard. Just like guitars of the time, it's shaped in a 9.5" radius so that it's equally good for chording and solo work.
