Much like the rest of the Fender Stratocaster range, the Ed O’Brien model delivers stunning tones that are guaranteed to take your performance to the next level. This model has been designed with a trio of different pickups, set up in an SSS configuration. Its bridge pickup is a Duncan JB Jr humbucker. This provides your guitar with a classic upper mid cut, bright harmonic sparkle, and a tight, focused low-end. In the middle position sits a Texas Special, a single-coil that produces crisp voicings, packed with dynamic character and punch.
Finally, on the neck, is a Fernandes Sustainer Driver. This adds extra power to distinctively match Ed’s style of playing. Receive total control of the guitar’s sustain and feedback to saturate your sound with texture and tonal colouring. This sustainer features three modes. Raise the sustained notes to the fifth harmonic or blend between the two to create a harmonised feedback effect.
The guitar’s neck has been carefully crafted into a 10/56 “V” back-shape. Thanks to this, you are provided with maximum comfort while you perform as your hand fully cups the neck, allowing you to smoothly glide it down the sleek maple material. It is then topped with a maple fretboard. This also allows for hours of comfortable playing as the wood feels smooth under your fingers. On the fretboard sit twenty-one narrow tall frets, which ensure that your slides feel natural. They also provides you with the perfect base for bending notes.
