At the heart of the Fender Troy Sanders Precision Bass lies a custom PJ pickup set designed to deliver a wide and powerful tonal range. The split-coil Precision Bass pickup in the middle position adds warmth and thump, while the single-coil Jazz Bass pickup at the bridge delivers tight, aggressive growl. This setup gives you the tonal firepower to move effortlessly between smooth low-end support and biting lead lines. Both pickups are custom-voiced to match Troy Sanders’ high-output, heavy mix-cutting style, making them ideal for drop-tuned metal, progressive riffs and everything in between. 18V active preamp with versatile controls
Designed for power and precision, the 18V active preamp adds serious headroom and tonal flexibility. Created in collaboration with Tim Shaw, this custom circuit gives you full control over your sound via bass and treble boost/cut controls and a pan pot for seamless pickup blending. You can toggle between active and passive operation on the fly with the onboard mini switch, giving you the punch and clarity of modern electronics or the vintage character of a passive circuit. Need extra aggression for a high-gain riff or a cleaner, rounded tone for dynamic sections? This preamp puts all of that at your fingertips, making it a perfect fit for stage or studio use.

White pearloid block inlays dress the rosewood fingerboard, with a custom “Emperor of Sand” icon adding a unique touch at the 12th fret.
