A tone that always has you covered. No matter the genre. The Hagstrom Viking Bass is equipped with a pair of Dyna-Rail humbuckers, gifting players with an expertly balanced sound and sublime clarity. Ultimately, a bass needs to be capable of punching through a dense mix. Which is why Hagstrom have ensured that the Viking hosts all the warm, booming bass tone that's required in live performance.
But what makes the Viking rise above the rest is its immense versatility. And it's all thanks to the unique 6-way rotary pickup selector that features in its electronics. The functions of this selector are two-fold: pickup switching, and coil-splitting. Positions 1-3 let the humbuckers act as single-coils, producing a brighter, twangier sound. Alternatively, positions 4-6 utilise the Dyna-Rail's rich, warm humbucker voice. And, with tone and volume controls for each pickup, the power truly is with the player to customise their sound as they wish. Flourish in every performance.
Play to perfection
Smooth sailing. The combination of a Resinator wood fretboard and Canadian hard maple neck makes for a flawless playing experience. The resinator fretboard is incredibly stable, with a bright, punchy tone similar to ebony. This helps to add detail to each note you play, and make it more prominent. The neck also has a bright resonance, whilst being more than smooth enough to allow your hand fluid manoeuvrability across the entire fretboard. You'll play tighter and cleaner than ever before.
The unmistakable semi-hollow sound
Your warmest bass sound. The semi-hollow body of the Hagstrom Viking bass gives it a loud, proud voicing with a superb resonance. Two carved 'f' holes add a beautiful aesthetic, whilst the body itself rings out with unmistakable warmth and vibrance. It also provides a strong sustain to help you extend your notes out and make each note fill the room. That's all in addition to it looking absolutely stunning.
