Thermo Aged Tonewoods

Ibanez uses a special process that involves each piece of tonewood being heated in a vacuum in order to release water and decompose any resin contained within the wood. This process results in a light, hard, and stable wood, just like a tonewood that has dried for decades. Thermo-aged wood delivers a spectacular response and a louder sound, along with a full-bodied low-end, and a smooth sustain in the treble strings, which are common characteristics of vintage guitars.

Solid Caucasian Spruce Top & Mahogany Body

The Ibanez AVD11 Artwood Vintage features a thermo aged solid Caucasian spruce top, which delivers a pleasing sonic warmth and creates strong fundamentals. Furthermore, spruce holds a versatile tonality that yields a crisp and articulate tone, perfect for a wide range of playing styles. Its thermo aged process provides the AVD11 with an authentic appearance combined with a tonal character that's found within pre-war acoustics. The authentic-looking solid top is coupled with mahogany back and sides which delivers a meaty mid-range, producing punchy, woody tones with plenty of depth and complexity that will please most playing styles. Dreadnought Body

The Ibanez AVD11 features a traditional dreadnought body, which projects an enormous voice, yet still maintains overall tonal balance. With superb volume and projection, the AVD11 is ideal for a wide range of genres and playing styles, from aggressive strumming to flat picking styles. Furthermore, the sheer volume the AVD11 can project makes it an ideal vocal accompaniment for acoustic jams and performances. Mahogany Neck & Ovangkol Fingerboard

Constructed from mahogany, the neck offers warmth and added resonance, and also provides a quick response. Mahogany is commonly used to craft guitar necks, as the wood's natural character enables it to respond greatly well to numerous genres and techniques. In addition, the neck features a V-shaped profile, providing a comfortable playing experience and a better grip for players of all styles. The neck is topped with an ovangkol fingerboard that adds warmth with a little hint of bright-sparkle to the overall sound. Its fingerboard also offers a smooth playability and is sprinkled with gold mother of pearl dot inlays for added authenticity.

Thermo Aged X Bracing

The AVD11 Artwood Vintage features thermo aged X bracing which delivers superb volume and an enormous frequency range. X bracing also prevents the guitar from collapsing under string tension and provides a stable and durable construction.

Ibanez Advantage Bridge Pins

Unlike standard bridge pins, the AVD11 Artwood Vintage 2018 features advantage bridge pins, that are easier to take out and easier to put in. Each pin features a bulb shaped end, which is not only easy to grip, but also prevents the pin from being pushed in too far, for a reliable performance.

Vintage Appearance

The AVD11 Artwood Vintage features a beautifully authentic appearance due to its vintage ornate details and thermo aged process. Its thermo aged top turns the spruce's natural whiter colouring into an amber toned colour, providing players with a vintage aesthetic. In addition, the AVD11 Artwood Vintage features a traditionally authentic acoustic look via its simplistic black pickguard, herringbone purfling, gold mother of pearl dot inlays, and antique chrome tuners. Together these pre-war ornate details and thermo aged process provide a truly traditional appearance for the player with a vintage vibe.
