The Ibanez BTB1906 bass guitar is designed to offer boutique quality craftsmanship and a premium playing experience. With its clever construction methods, premium tonewoods, high-quality electronics and reliable hardware, the BTB1906 gives you "Performance beyond expectation."
The BTB1906 features a mahogany wing body surrounding the 9pc neck-thru design. Mahogany gives a warm and resonant sound with great sustain. The body is finished in a natural low gloss to show off the grain of the wood below.
The neck is a 9-piece design constructed from panga panga, purpleheart and maple, and it features graphite reinforcement rods. These woods provide an exceptional balance of lows and highs with great strength and durability, while the graphite assists in neck stability and resonance. The fingerboard is panga panga and provides a stable surface for the left hand.
The BTB1906 features an exceptionally comfortable contoured body, with a particularly deep cutaway to allow access to the upper frets. The extra-long 35-inch neck ensures even string tension and added sustain. It also gives superior articulation and is perfect for the BTB1906's 6 strings. The neck is built with neck-thru construction which provides a stunning appearance and gives massive sustain with excellent stability. The inclusion of a "zero" fret allows for more accurate intonation and a more consistent string tone and resonance between open string tones and fretted tones.
The BTB1906 features Aguilar DCB active pickups which give a dynamic and responsive attack and singing sustain. They are wired up with Ibanez custom electronics giving you access to a 3-band EQ with an extra mid frequency switch. This gives you the ability to sculpt your tone to exactly how you like it, or allows you to bypass the EQ section altogether.
This bass guitar features many high-quality appointments in hardware such as Gotoh machine heads and a Mono-Rail V bridge. These ensure that you will have maximum tuning stability alongside enhanced string vibration transfer to the body of the guitar. A Neutrik locking output jack is also included which prevents your cable from being accidentally pulled out of the guitar.
The BTB1906 is cleverly designed and every feature has been carefully thought about to either improve the sound or the functionality of this guitar. This is a bass that is built to offer the maximum playing experience and tone for the player, whilst standing up to the rigours of gigging and touring.
Over the past 30 years, Ibanez Guitars have always been at the forefront of developing the right tools for electric guitar players pushing the boundaries of music. For decades, Ibanez designers and luthiers have been the embodiment of this ideology, pushing their skills to the edge of imagination, consistently creating some of the most versatile and unique instruments ever. Although Ibanez guitars have been made since 1908, it wasn't until the late 1980s that they began to form an identity for themselves when artists such as Steve Vai and Frank Zappa began using their instruments. Now with a huge artist clientele across the globe, Ibanez are a leading manufacturer of electric guitars and basses and a first choice for many dedicated musicians.
