Straight from the top. The GRGR221PA GIO comes equipped with a pair of blistering, IBZ-6 pickups. Based on the IBZ pickup sets found in Ibanez's top-of-the-range models, these high-powered humbuckers provide all the grunt you need for a crushing metal tone, while retaining enough clarity and definition to let every note of every chord shine through.
The bridge model offers a pleasing mid-range push that's just crying out for crunchy, distorted chords. The neck unit, however, gives a rounder, fuller tone with a beefy low end and twinkling treble. This is ideal for soft clean tones, or creamy solos. Switching between the two couldn't be easier, with a three-way blade switch that also offers a killer combined sound at the middle position - the best of both worlds.
