A natural musician, Yvette has been making waves in the guitar world with her band Covet. Known for outstanding, accelerated riffs, she has forged her own style and injects plenty of personality into her playing.

Where she might differ from your standard master shredding merchant, is her initial background as a piano player. Entirely self-taught on the guitar, she learned to play by ear. Consequently, she utilises a lot of non-standard tunings and chord shapes to create her vibrant musicality. In recognition of this talent, the YY20 comes with the 6th string tuned to F and 4th to C, encouraging you to immediately adopt her idea-rich attitude.

Central to her melodious flow are the incredibly meticulous Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro single coil pickups. Finely crafted from the pickup professionals at Seymour Duncan, they have a vintage voicing that elicits a pristine chime with plenty of detailed treble. While they hum with excellent clarity on clean channels, if a bit of bite is what you need, they're hot enough to give you some serious snarl. Perfect for capturing every detail of the glorious rosewood fretboard and alder body, these pickups won't miss a trick.

Selectable through a 3-way switch, you have access to a creamy, rich twang on the neck single-coil. Meanwhile for a dedicated sharpness that has plenty of cut, the bridge is your best choice. For a balanced blend that shines with plenty of punch, switch over to the middle selector to activate both pickups.

To achieve this, Ibanez have installed the YY20 with a curved maple neck that's robust, stable, and full of bright tonal character. On the fretting side of things, a best-in-class rosewood fretboard adorns the YY20. Known for its engaging, soft embrace and flawless tonal character, there couldn't have been a better choice for an instrument that encourages emotive playing all over the scales.
