The KMA Machines Dead Stagg Fuzz/Distortion is an incredibly versatile multi-effect pedal, capable of a full range of overdriven sounds, perfect for a range of different playing styles. It takes influence from the classic Big Muff pedal yet provides expanded capabilities with increased versatility. The Dead Stag features multiple options for setting the distortion response, including two gain levels and a SMOOTH/SHARP toggle switch for varied overdriven tonalities.


An active parametric EQ gives you extensive tonal shaping possibilities; everything from a thicker low-end rumble to a spitting mid-range, scooped mids, and much more. The pedal also has a 15dB boost/cut control active around the mid-frequencies. KMA Machines hand make all their guitar pedals in Berlin, using premium components and rugged aluminium chassis to ensure a highly durable performance, designed to survive the trials of life on the road. Distortion & fuzz effects

The KMA Machines Dead Stagg is a pedal that uses the classic Big Muff as its blueprint but has taken the effect settings and capabilities that bit further. A compact and highly durable unit which is capable of an extremely powerful output, the Dead Stagg is a pedal that punches above its weight. With both distortion and fuzz effects, you’ll have an extremely wide range of rich, distorted sonic options which can be tailored to fit, giving you all the power. When you plug in and play through something that has been manufactured with care and meticulous attention to detail – you can tell. Being a KMA Machines product, this pedal is handmade and features a one of a kind tonal palette which will reward you with development the more you get to know, a true one off of a guitar experience.

Gain setting & overdrive character

Featuring 2 gain levels to set the initial dial response, the Dead Stagg also has a voice switch that sets the character from smooth to sharper and cutting. The MUD control alters the grade of the distortion, while the GROWL control sets the overall volume. This large range of dials purely affects the gain characteristics and output level of the pedal, without even covering the EQ controls. With these dials you can choose to create both thick and saturated fuzz sounds, cutting and biting distortion tones, mild overdrive crunch with depth – and everything in-between.

Tonal sculpting & hidden internal controls

The Dead Stag has an active parametric EQ that can both boost and cut your tonal frequencies. An additional boost/cut control shapes the mid-range response. This control is focused around the 400Hz and 2.4 kHz frequencies for precise control of the mid-range, allowing you to adapt the pedal to fit your own preferences and guitar/amp setup. These dials can help you create any EQ curve you desire, including mid-scooped metal sounds, mid-boosted lead or solo tones, bass heavy warm saturation, or treble boosted cutting sounds.

Inside the Dead Stag is a hidden Q Bandwidth control that adjusts the overall EQ response for even more fine-tuning capability. It affects how wide the mid-range control boost/cut is, and lets you create a more targeted response. Not only does this pedal feature a powerful output, but it also boasts seriously powerful controls (both hidden and not) which can transform any rig, helping you take your performance to the next level.
