The P90 pickup has an extended frequency range, providing you with more high and low frequency content. It sits perfectly between the bright, punchy sound of a single coil and the warm, thick tones of a humbucker. With a subtle midrange bump, the P90 offers more output compared to a single coil and as a result has more "grit" to its sound.
