Key Features
The Martin 000-16 Streetmaster is the latest installment of the popular series and pays homage to the working musician with a beautiful worn-in look that transports you to the shores of California. Built with an Adirondack spruce top that has been sonically enhanced through Martin's revolutionary Vintage Tone System (VTS), which ages the wood to provide a tonally vibrant performance that faithfully recreates the sound of a guitar aged for decades.
This guitar guarantees a bigger and bassier sound than the other streetmaster series, so you can project your performance anywhere you go. Perfect for a jam on the beach or a busk in the city, the Martin 000-16 Streetmaster gives the feel and aesthetic of an age-old instrument, with the playability of a modern guitar.

Featuring a Adirondack spruce top alongside East Indian rosewood back and sides, you’ll be guaranteed a rich and tonally vibrant experience, full to the brim with resonance and character. What’s more, the carefully selected tonewoods featured on this guitar are sturdy and highly durable, so you can achieve that wonderful worn aesthetic without any of the worry – rest assured, this guitar will stick with you for a long time. The neck is made from satin dark mahogany, the same as the top finish, and features the modified low oval shaping which provides a supremely comfortable playing experience from day one, until its last breath.
Beneath the rugged surface lies a scalloped sitka spruce X-bracing, which has been designed using another element of Martin’s technological repertoire. The X-bracing is the shape of the wood inside the guitar that helps to push the sound from the strings through the body of the guitar for additional resonance, creating a natural projection which helps to create that beautiful, natural acoustic Martin sound.
With any acoustic guitar, the tone develops over time – as the tonewoods used to build it lose their moisture they become lighter, and their natural resonance is increased. This process can take decades and is dependent entirely on the environmental conditions surrounding the guitar, but now thanks to Martin’s Vintage Tone System – you don’t have to wait. Martin took a trip through time to study some of their classic guitars from their own museum dating back as far as 1919, to understand how they could recreate the look, feel and sound of these old-school classics. Using cutting edge technology they have been able to simplify and reduce the aging process to ensure that every guitar built using the VTS comes out sounding as through it has been aged over decades. Trust us when we say, the Martin 000-16 Streetmaster truly is a fine wine of an acoustic.
If you’re looking for an old-school style guitar with all the perks of modern technology and build, then look no further. This guitar truly combines the best of both worlds and seeks to deceive even the most season connoisseurs with its charming, beach worn exterior. This guitar gives the impression that it has travelled high and low to find you, both sonically and visually, but retains all the youthful exuberance of an instrument still ready to start the journey.
