The Martin Street Master features a dreadnought body shape, which provides an enormous voice, and maintains overall tonal balance. The dreadnought shape was originally designed for hard pick attack. However through years of superb craftsmanship, Martin have created a stunningly toned, well-balanced dreadnought voice that can handle many genres and styles of play with equal ease. The big body is ideal for players with a longer reach, and those more comfortable with the dreadnought size. The sheer volume the Street Master can project makes it ideal for the singer/songwriter, as vocalists can really push their diaphragm to the max and not feel too loud against the guitar's volume, as it will sing as loud as you do. Ideal for the busking or performing musician.
The D-15M Street Master features an all-mahogany body, which offers durability and delivers incredibly rich distinct warmth. Mahogany also contains distinct character of soft warmth, but is well balanced with a bite of its own. The Street Master produces a focused, punchy mid-range, thick well-defined tone, and sings sweet sparkling highs with plenty of characterised warmth. Mahogany is used a lot in the acoustic world, because it is relatively economical, durable, attractive, easy to work with, and resonant. As a top wood, the mahogany offers a natural compression, creating strong fundamentals with a clear and direct focus. Used as back and sides panels, the tonewood provides a meaty mid-range, producing punchy, 'woody' tones with plenty of depth and complexity that will please most playing styles.
The reason why many guitar necks are made from mahogany is because the wood responds greatly to picking styles, strumming, and various finger techniques with equal ease. This mahogany neck features a modified low oval shape, providing comfort, durability, and great playability. The rich mahogany neck is topped with a katalox fingerboard which offers a very responsive bright, snappy attack, coupled with smooth sustain and sparkly highs. The neck is finished in satin for a sleek appearance and smooth play.
For 183 years, Martin have been at the forefront of guitar innovation and premier craftsmanship, bringing consumers some of the best acoustic guitars possible. The iconic Martin tone is known worldwide and playability has become an important characteristic that sets Martin guitars aside from others within the acoustic world. Martin's manufacturing processes has been perfected by their Plek machines, the Pleking process helps Martin guitars maintain their undeniable tone.
The Plek Pro has been developed for use in guitar production factories as a tool that not only does precise fingerboard dressing, but also helps with quality control. The computer controlled device scans and dresses the guitar under actual playing conditions, strung and tuned to pitch for using precise string tension emulation. This machine has been a major break through over the last decade, as its eye for detail identifies exactly what needs to be done for perfect fretwork. The Plek Pro offers perfect results, raises the quality of the instrument, and gives you a beautifully toned, easy to play acoustic guitar.
The Martin D-15M boasts a stunning design to match its tone, featuring signature multi-strip rosette situated around the sound-hole for traditional Martin touch. Its beautiful satin finish is complemented by the mahogany burst coloured top and offers an authentic vintage-vibe to match a players personality perfectly. The neck has diamond and square short pattern fingerboard markers, inlaid in abalone for added elegance to an already outstanding appearance. The all-mahogany construction features a distressed satin finish accompanied by golden age relic nickel machineheads, offering an extra authentic aesthetic for those who crave a more unique Martin look.
The non-scalloped X bracing shape allows the top of your guitar to vibrate freely yet keeps it stable and secure. Bracing reinforces your guitar's structure, and stops it from collapsing under string tension and shapes the guitar's overall sound.
Please note: Martin do not ship their guitars with the strap button installed on the bottom of the guitar. They do this to avoid any impact cracks that may occur during shipping. You can find your strap button inside the case compartment.
