The D 19's magnificent tonal character is owed in large part to the combination of Adirondack spruce and genuine mahogany used for its top, back, and sides. Known for its warm overtones and strong projection, Adirondack spruce has been a favourite choice among luthiers for its rich, complex sound. Genuine mahogany is also highly regarded for its crisp, punchy midrange and responsive dynamics. Together, these two tonewoods create a balanced yet powerful sound that is both warm and articulate.
Forward shifted X-bracing
To further enhance the D 19's sonic capabilities, Martin has equipped it with forward shifted X-bracing.
