The D-X1E range's unique high-pressure laminate surface remains the perfect way to attain a durable acoustic guitar without losing anything in tone. Generated from Hawaiian koa chosen by Martin's expert team, this tonewood is known for its sweet, bright treble and full midrange. However, as koa wears in by being played, it opens up into a smooth, rich low-end that provides exceptional warmth. All of this makes the D-X1E ideal for dedicated players, offering a solid and reliable acoustic workhorse and an amazing tone that only gets better as you use it.

Responsive, smooth playing

Readjusted for 2024, the D-X1E has had several tweaks made to improve its playability even further. A thinner fingerboard makes it easier to travel across the neck, whilst its bevelled edges provide the comfortable feel of a familiar guitar that you've already played for years. Carefully refined string spacing ensures easy fretting of chords and simpler strumming.
