The Orange PPC212V Vertical Open Back 2x12 Cabinet id the first vertical configuration cabinet from Orange. Featuring 1x12" Celestion Neo Creamback speakers for an incredibly light weight cab with an excellent and well-rounded tonal response. The open back cabinet is constructed from 15mm birch plywood for a sturdy structure with a bright, open and airy projection.
Finished with Orange's signature design, this cabinet provides a great balance between a compact size which takes up less base room, and glorious projection with its 2x12 vertical design. The lightweight neodymium magnets are just another feature which make this cabinet the perfect complement to Orange's portable Terror amplifier heads. The PPC212V Vertical Open Back Cabinet is the first vertical arrangement cabinet released by Orange, designed to provide the signature “Orange Sound” in a lightweight and portable 2 x 12 amplifier. Vertically arranged cabinets have gained increasing popularity over the years as they give you the benefits of a multi-speaker cab that takes up much less room on stage; ideal for those smaller gigs.
Featuring Celestion’s Neo Creamback speakers which deliver a vintage-inspired tone with rich mids and smooth highs. The speakers have a neodymium magnet and are almost half the weight of traditional drivers, giving you the same tonality and projection of a normal ceramic magnet driver but with a truly lightweight design. All of this adds up to an incredibly manageable amplifier considering its size.
Quality construction
Orange has been manufacturing amplifiers and cabinets for over 50 years, so they know exactly how to make a quality unit. Complete with a lightweight durability and tones to die for, the PPC212V is constructed from 15mm birch plywood with an open-back design to further reduce its weight. The open-back construction also brings a wonderful airy sound to this cabinet, and the vertical projection interacts with a room differently compared to an amp with the traditional horizontal construction. Finished in Orange’s hard-wearing vinyl with a rugged grill cloth, the corners are also protected with metal caps and side mounted carry handles to make transportation a breeze.
It’s not just aesthetically pleasing, as vertical configuration cabinets give you the projection of a 4x12, the stage footprint of a 1x12, and the multi-speaker benefits of a 2x12 with increased tonal response and width. Combining these features with the neodymium-loaded drivers results in a cabinet which sacrifices none of the quality but sheds a lot of the weight. The PPC212V is a perfect match for Orange’s Terror range of amplifier heads and gives you a portable, manageable and compact cabinet with excellent tonality and projection.
