There's nothing quite like it. That soft pulsation of true power tube bias tremolo has hypnotised players and audiences alike for over half a century. Revered as one of the most sought-after tremolo sounds to date, it's a signature tone found in certain amps from the late 50s and early 60s. Those lucky individuals who own those amps don't want to give them up. And with good reason.
But now it's here. And with all the sonic potency you've come to know and love. The Origin Effects DELUXE61 puts that legendary sound onto your pedalboard, and all without having to rely on rare and expensive vintage amplification.
Crafted with care in the United Kingdom, the Origin Effects DELUXE61's tonality is firmly rooted in the behaviour of real valve amp circuitry. The tremolo is recreated at circuit level, ensuring absolute authenticity with true vintage flair. But that doesn't mean you're limited to purely vintage sounds. Not at all. The DELUXE61 has been kitted out with a diverse collection of modern features, giving you astounding flexibility and enormous sonic variety...
Typically, you'll find three simple controls on a tremolo unit. Speed, depth, and an on/off switch. The DELUXE61 gives you so much more. Sure, that trinity of controls is still here. The Intensity knob controls the depth, the Speed control adjusts the rate, and there's a footswitch for activating or bypassing the tremolo effect altogether. But that's just scratching the surface.
The Trem footswitch is one of two footswitches on the DELUXE61, and it's completely separate to the pedal's on/off switch. That's because the Origin Effects DELUXE61 also offers a faithful range of stunning clean and overdriven tones voices after a legendary classic amplifier.
The Drive control gives you that signature non-master-volume guitar amp sonic potential, delivering sparkling bell-like cleans at low levels, and crisp, vintage crunch towards the higher settings. You can alter the tone of that sound with the aptly-named Tone control, giving you a brighter sound the more you turn it up whilst taming the highs when turned down. And you can set the overall level of the pedal with the Output control.
But there's more. You don't just have one speed option for the tremolo effect itself. A toggle switch labeled Multi allows you to apply a preset multiplier to the Speed control. This adjusts the range of Speed available, giving you a vast range of tremolo speed options. Then there's the Shape toggle switch. Choose between two difference LFO waveforms to alter the shape of the tremolo's action. The sine wave gives a more traditional sound, whilst the full wave setting is perfect when you want to up the intensity of your sound.
Finally, there's the Post Drive EQ section. This offers complete compatibility with a wide range of amplifiers, allowing you to adjust the frequency response of the pedal to suit the response of your amp. The ADJ trim pot gives you even more fine-tuning potential over your top-end, so you can sculpt your sound with absolute precision.
Looking to dial in the tremolo speed on the fly? A handy footswitch input lets you plug in your favourite external footswitch, giving you tap tempo capabilities, as well as the ability to activate or bypass the tremolo remotely. This input is directly compatible with a huge variety of effects switching systems too, making it easy to integrate into any pedalboard. Big or small.
British audio designer Simon Keats started Origin Effects through a genuine desire to produce quality audio tools that he wanted to use. He believes that the tools he creates just won't be matched by 'off-the-shelf' FX pedals and many modern players would agree. Each pedal is individually hand built, expertly calibrated, assembled, tested, and finished in the UK.
As a guitarist himself, Simon understands the needs of modern players. As a highly experienced audio engineer and designer, he has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry before creating Origin Effects to showcase some of his own best creations. They are all designed to replicate those elusive legendary tones that guitarists lust over whilst retaining the soul of each instrument.
