Key Features
A heritage amp for your pedalboard. Nothing beats the sound and feel of a real vintage tube amp. With the Origin Effects MAGMA57 Amp Vibrato & Drive, you can now fit that unmistakable playing experience onto your pedalboard. The lush, tone-bending vibrato and elegant, dynamic overdrive of classic boutique amps flow from the Origin MAGMA57's painstakingly modelled vibrato and overdrive circuits, designed around the rare 50's Magnatone® 200 series.
The vibrato effect ranges from soft and subtle to thick, whirling psychedelia, and features in-depth tempo controls, including a three-way multiplier switch and footswitchable tap tempo. The rich, tube-style crunch offers a familiar reactive feel, distorting more as your pick hand digs in further, and you can precisely match the pedal's output to your favourite amp with the exclusive post-drive EQ. With a road-ready, all metal construction and silent switching, the MAGMA57 is time-honoured tube tone in top-quality, modern stomp box form.

Good vibrations. Vibrato, as an effect, can sometimes be a confusing term. Often confused with tremolo, a classic vibrato derives its rhythm from a change in pitch, rather than just volume, as you would expect with a violinist's natural vibrato technique. The Origin MAGMA57 features traditional, true pitch-modulation vibrato, with the Intensity knob taking you from subtle, atmospheric undulation to full-throttle, effects-laden experimentalism when cranked.
Its three-position multiplier switch intensifies the tempo, which can be set either with the Speed knob, or by tap tempo, accessed via the footswitch input (footswitch not included. Keeping track of your speed setting is easy, as the jewel light, which turns white when Vibe is engaged, pulses in time with your tempo.
Total control. Most overdrive pedals produce their standard sound, and rely on your amp's settings to find the best balance of tone. Origin thinks your overdrive should be ready for anything, right out of the stompbox.
With that in mind, the MAGMA57 features a clever post-drive EQ circuit with three distinct tones, voiced specifically for thick Fender-type amps, mid-focussed Marshall styles, or cleaner, flat-response models. The ADJ knob adds a further stage of top-end calibration, allowing you to push, or tame, the MAGMA57's rich, saturated harmonics so they match your amp's tone circuit to perfection.
It all started in 1957. Magnatone® amplifiers, recently under new management, released their "200 Series" of combo amps. Specifically aimed at "professional musicians", the 200 series models included a revolutionary new vibrato circuit, dubbed the "Vibrato Vastness" effect. Various versions were created for different amps, including a ground-breaking stereo vibrato effect in the dual-speaker 460 amp. It is the pure, characterful sound of these early, trailblazing vibrato units that the MAGMA57 recreates with such loving accuracy
