A seasoned expert, Dave Nichol has been a master builder at Charvel since 2006 and has fabricated some truly stunning instruments in that time - this is the perfect showcase of his quality. By purchasing a Custom Shop Charvel, you are empowered by the knowledge your guitar has the imprint of a seasoned professional, and each detail is measured and deftly assembled to reach the pinnacle of quality.
Rock and roll revelation
Starting at the top, the fingerboard is set at a 12" to 16" radius, leaving plenty of room to shred and bend to your heart's content. The one-piece neck is constructed from quartersawn maple and given an oiled finish, allowing your fingers to dance and skate across the frets as you kick out electrifying riffs.
Power in the pickup
Two carefully chosen pickups team up to give this customer San Dimas real versatility. The bridge Bare Knuckle Riff Raff humbucker eschews the pickup cover to enhance the gain of your playing - set to this pickup, your notes will crunch with ferocity, allowing you to pierce through the mix. By contrast, the neck pickup contains a Twisted Tele single coil that is usually found on Fender's Telecaster series. This offers a deep, twangy cadence that suits melodious blues or bright, clean chords. Selectable through a three way switch, the pickups are at the heart of the Charvel Custom's serious tone.
Alder way to the top
Sitting on top of this beautiful alder body is the expertly tweaked hardware of this guitar. Aside from the pickups, it also features an Original Floyd Rose-Top Mounted Locking Tremolo system. This is going to keep your tuning rock solid while also letting you divebomb and modulate your tone, and create frequencies to excite and delight when set in combination with the roomy radius of the neck and the bright resonant body wood.
