Key Features
The Fender Custom Shop '59 Stratocaster Journeyman is a complete revival of a vintage instrument. Boasting classic vibes through its trio of hand wound Fat '50s pickups and an exceptional playability through its AAA class rosewood fretboard, it's not just for looking at! Indeed, the utterly authentic Journeyman Relic finish gives you a guitar that's been played and loved over the decades, so there's no reason to stop now!
That finish applies a worn-in lacquered neck coat, bearing the marks of countless riffs and jamming sessions. It's super-smooth to hold, and is made from quartersawn maple and shaped into the '59 "D" profile for extra stability. Paired with a AAA hand sorted rosewood fretboard in a versatile 9.5" radius, this Strat is ready for any playing style. Complete with an accurate '59 tremolo bridge for voicing those sweet Strat vibratos, this gorgeous Sonic Blue Fender bears an unmistakable vintage character, with all the benefits of modern Custom Shop engineering.

Complete tonal accuracy. These are some special pickups, hand-wound by Josefina Campos, the apprentice of legendary Fender tone shaper Abigail Ybarra. Using techniques passed down from Leo Fender himself, the Fat '50s match the sparkling character and glassy response of those early pickups, with a resounding low-end, thick, punchy mids, and gleaming, airy highs.
Boasting highly articulate dynamics and a true vintage vibe, the hand-wound Fat '50s have a lineage stretching back to the founder himself and are a completely perfect fit for the '59 Journeyman Strat.
Supreme attention to detail - down to the last screw! The '59 Journeyman Strat has been intricately aged by the Custom Shop to resemble an instrument that's been played (and loved!) for decades. Every component is meticulously treated to mimic the natural worn-in look and feel of a veteran guitar, where the neck is discoloured after countless riffs and the nitro lacquer has altered in hue over the years.
The result is an instrument that's indistinguishable from a '50s original - only with the benefit of modern reliability and stability!
The kind of quality you can expect from the Fender Custom Shop. The '59 Journeyman Relic Stratocaster is equipped with an accurate - and easy playing - quartersawn maple neck and AAA hand-sorted rosewood fretboard. The combination of these two ultra-premium woods creates a super-smooth and super-stable playing surface.
The neck is frictionless and sleek thanks to the worn-in finish, while the round-lam rosewood is shaped into a versatile 9.5" radius that's comfortable for slick leads and complex chord work. Dressed with 21 narrow tall vintage frets and accompanied by a '59 "D" neck back shape, it feels completely sublime to navigate - whether you're soloing with passion or voicing groovy rhythms.
