The inclusion of EMG 35HZ pickups in the Schecter Charles Berthoud CB-4 bass contributes significantly to its versatile tonal capabilities. These pickups, which are a part of EMG's passive Extended series, are specifically designed for 4-string basses and feature a humbucking design that reduces noise whilst simultaneously delivering a robust output.
The distinctive pairing of ceramic bar magnets and steel imparts a warm tone, characterised by a smooth attack and an expansive mid-range response. Further adding to its unique design, the EMG 35HZ pickups utilise an extended housing that spans 3.5 inches (89mm), further enriching the depth and range of the sound. This ultimately provides a wider scope for musicians to experiment and find their unique voice.
Neck-through design
One of the most striking features of the Schecter Charles Berthoud CB-4 is its layered neck-through design with carbon reinforcement rods.
