The Seymour Duncan Pegasus pickup was built from scratch for 7 and 8-string guitars, rather than modifying a 6-string pickup to accommodate the extended frequency range. This allowed the pickup to deliver a beautifully warm, lush tone with excellent balance and response across all the strings, ideal for progressive metal. Its alnico V magnet and custom wiring specs provides players a harmonically rich character, with a prominent midrange, focused low-end, and a high resonant peak to deliver a beautiful sparkling top-end. The humbucker is also given a moderate output to deliver amazing cleans, while its responsive pick attack allows players to cut through any live mix and deliver tight-tracking transients in studio environments.
