Seymour Duncan's Most Popular Single-Coil
The SSL-1 Vintage Staggered Strat pickup has been Seymour Duncan's most popular single-coil for the Stratocaster. Its hand-ground Alnico 5 magnets and moderate windings (Heavy Formvar wire) allow for a bright and punchy tone with vintage output. If you're looking for accurate traditional single-coil tone, then the SSL-1 may just be what you're looking for. Of course, accurate single-coil tone can be helped by clean and mildly distorted amp settings. In comparison to the APS-1, the Vintage Staggered Strat pickup possesses a more focused "bell" tone with a light bass response.
Useful Inclusions
Included with this pickup is a waxed cloth hookup cable and vintage-style "keyed" bottom plate.
Suitable for Warmer Toned Ash, Alder, or Basswood Body Instruments
This pickup is designed for warmer toned ash, alder or basswood body instruments and it works especially well with rosewood fingerboards.
