For an even more versatile performance, the high output Ceramic humbucker and 2-Band Active Preamp allow excellent tone shaping options, so that you can find your own sound. The satin finished maple neck enables fast playing and provides clarity and brightness to the StingRay5's sound; as well as a maple fingerboard that enhances the sound with tight, ringing sustain. Finished in classic Vintage Sunburst Satin and black oval pickguard, the Sterling StingRay5 provides the look and sound of the Music Man Stingray 5, without the top-end price.

Single Yet Powerful Ceramic Humbucker

Loaded with a high output humbucking pickup, the Sterling StingRay5 produces loud, clear tones with a variety of onboard tone shaping options. The pickup and 9V active preamp co-operate perfectly to preserve the bass' natural sound whilst still offering a platform for you to adjust the controls so that it works for your style. The controls include volume, high and low cut/boost, which allow you to find your own sound within the array of sonic possibilities available.

Maple Neck & Fingerboard

The SUB By Sterling StingRay5's neck is crafted from smooth maple, which provides a bright and twangy tone and it is topped with a maple fingerboard. The maple fingerboard enhances the sound with tight tones and good amounts of sustain, and the smooth feel allows fast navigation between notes.

Crafted With Basswood Body

The basswood body means that the Sterling StingRay5 is lightweight and is easy to rock with during those long gig nights or studio sessions. The Ray5 delivers good dynamics and excellent definition, perfect for creating a versatile and focused performance. The basswood's tone isn't too bright or too warm and is therefore ideal for players who prefer to use their amp to create their sound rather than relying on the characteristics of the tonewood.
