Key Features
The Strymon Sunset Dual Classic Overdrive Pedal is equipped with two independent, custom voiced overdrive pedals, offering control over the huge-range of sought out tones. Within both overdrives are three different circuits, all which can be used either separately or staged together for an incredible sounding overdriven tone. While the Ge, Texas, 2Stage, and Hard circuits produce incredible overdrives, the Treble and JFET circuits act as boosters, letting you find the perfect tone and offering amazing stacking options. Built with an all-analogue JFET gain stage, and DSP algorithms to offer exceptional touch sensitivity, dynamic interaction, detailed complexity, and responsiveness, the Strymon Sunset is the ultimate overdrive pedal.

The Sunset is a classic, custom-voiced dual overdrive pedal, offering two sounds that can be used either separately or stacked together. Designed with six overdrive circuits, this model feels and reacts differently to others. A simple control setup has been custom calibrated in order to provide you with the perfect amount of overdrive. Quickly and easily dial-in the perfect tone. At the heart of the pedal lies an ultra-low noise, class-A JFET circuit offering up to 20dB of pure analogue gain for exceptional touch sensitivity and responsiveness. A SHARC DSP is also added to the pedal to provide an incredible level of detailed complexity and responsiveness.
The pedal’s all analogue JFET gain stage is coupled with DSP algorithms, helping to capture the nuances and character of all six overdrive circuit type. The pedal is split into two, with channel A and channel B featuring three different overdrive circuits each.
Channel A’s first overdrive combines a soft response with a parallel path that blends the dry signal as the drive is lowered. This circuit provides a tight response which fattens up single coil pickups and pushes humbuckers for a bolder sound. The Texas circuit delivers a smooth and dynamic overdrive, retaining its signal dynamics as the gain’s increased, perfect for playing blues. Finally, the treble circuit is a treble booster which removes the low end as the tone control is turned up, perfect for tightening up overdriven amps or driving other gain pedals which have a looser low end.
Channel B’s 2Stage circuit creates a complex overdrive with a wide gain range. With its EQ structure, this circuit preserves the tones low end, adding muscle to push amps from lightly clipped to beefy saturation. The hard overdrive circuit features a lot of gain approaching on fuzz territory when the drive is set to max. The JFET circuit provides a clean boost, subtly beefing up the signal with dynamics and responsiveness. Turing up the drive produces a rounder, warmer tone which is great for adding a ‘little extra’ to amps.
