It’s no secret that folk music is back on the rise. This provided Tanglewood with all the reasoning they needed to venture their masterful craftmanship and stunning acoustic proficiency to creating a fantastic mandolin. Built with a fantastic choice of tonewoods, the combination of linden back and sides and a delightful spruce top results in a sound which is balanced in every frequency range.
The use of linden provides a feeling of warmth, filling out the low end of the tone, simultaneously grounding the mids, providing a fantastic base for the spruce to elevate. Beautifully bright and punchy, the spruce top ensures excellent projection and dynamic contrast, enforcing the high end of the instrument. Tanglewood have delivered yet again.
Obviously the instrument hold perfect acoustic sound quality, it is after all Tanglewood’s speciality, but its electronics open the world of folk to new horizons and in turn new stages. It’s acoustic emission is incredible thanks in two parts to the natural capabilities of the spruce top and its inclusion of two f-holes which push the waves on their way.
Tanglewood have however also opened the opportunity to perfectly capture this sound. Through the use of an under-saddle pickup, the mandolin can deliver this stunning sound to, PA systems, DI boxes and amplifiers, making it the perfect companion for recording and live use.

To begin the techwood fretboard, which is specially crafted for use on this mandolin, provides a faultless surface to glide across, allowing you to soar from position to position with ease.
It’s basic scroll cutaway body also ensures the upper ranges are easy to reach, so you can utilise the full capabilities of the instrument.
