The stunning body of the Yamaha FG820II 12-String Acoustic is crafted from mahogany which, not only looks beautiful, but sounds exquisite too. Offering a bright tone that enriches the higher range, the spruce top of this guitar brings even more possibilities. It has a distinctive, crisp sound, making it a popular choice of tonewood for guitar tops. With a wide dynamic range and sharp articulation, every note will be wonderfully defined and will ring out with glistening definition. And what makes it even better is the way it grows richer each time you play, meaning this guitar will stick with you and thrive for years to come. Spruce's exceptional versatility lends itself to a range of playing styles, so it is suited to all types of guitarists as well as those who want to explore new genres and techniques. The combination of spruce and mahogany then offers a balanced sound, granting you more freedom to perform with any style.
Attached onto a study nato neck is a wondrous walnut fretboard. Walnut has been relied upon for years because of its stunning, bright sound and its ever-growing tonal possibilities. Not only is it a smooth and sublime tonewood to fret upon, but it also ages in gorgeous fashion. It becomes warmer and softer as it matures whilst always retaining a woody midrange. Whether you're in the studio or on stage, walnut produces every single note beautifully.
Mounted inside the body of this guitar is newly developed scalloped bracing which has been designed to improve stability and sound in equal measure. It strengthens the top of the acoustic, preventing it from collapsing under string tension, meaning you can play with as much rigor as you like without worrying about its stability. Its meticulous design also enhances sound, making it louder, richer and stronger. This kind of durability travels up the nato neck too: it is strong and can endure any kind of fretting.
